Lochington State School

On behalf of the staff, students and the school community I would like to welcome you to our school webpage.

Lochington State School is a small property school built in 1952, 125 kilometres South-West of Emerald, in the Central Highlands of Queensland. The students all live on cattle properties and enjoy a healthy country lifestyle.

Lochington State School provides many opportunities across a wide range of areas for all students to experience success and to build self-esteem, independence and a lifelong love of learning. The multi-age structure across the school supports the philosophy that education for life involves a range of social interactions and different learning contexts.
Our community’s recognition of the importance of education and lifelong learning began 65 years ago when the local parents built their own school. This commitment still continues today with loyal support of the school by the original families and their ancestors. Our school is very proud of its past and hopeful for its future.

Yours in learning,

Lis BullPrincipal
